In middle school my mother mother gave me a 35 mm Canon AE-1 camera and encouraged me to enter into the photography class at school. My mother, an amateur photographer and professional graphic designer, always encouraged me to create. After seeing my first image develop in the darkroom, I was hooked. I grew up in an artistic household with a mother in the visual arts and a musical father who taught me how to play the guitar and introduced me to amazing music at very young age. I also had strong encouragement from my High School Photography teachers as well.
After graduating from
The Corcoran College of Art and Design with a B.A. in Photojournalism in 2004, I wasnt exactly sure what I wanted to do with my life, as I have many passions. Some of my passions include animal rescue, volunteering, comedy, music, nature photography, traveling, playing piano and guitar. At the age of 29, I have worked on Capital Hill, published in numerous publications, images in the permanent collection of the Library of Congress and I have worked as a photojournalist for FDIC and The United States Navy.
I am a Washington D.C. native and I currently reside in Maryland with my dogs Cherry and Louie, numerous rescued reptiles, and fish. When I am not working, I enjoy camping, road trips with my dogs, vintage thrift store shopping, making all of my friends laugh, and spending time with my family.
